   The Chamber is honoring the Wheaton Studio of Dance this year.
This downtown Wheaton facility was established in 1958, and is where many of the area's best dancers have been trained. It is one of the largest dance studios in the Washington area, and has been an integral part of the community under Artistic Director and Owner Shannon Rush-Locke.

Holiday On Duty 2013
Since 1999, the Chamber has run a program providing meals for Public
Safety personnel during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holidays.
   During these times, most eating establishments are closed in the
Wheaton and Kensington area. Many public safety men and women are
handling every emergency and find it difficult to locate restaurants
open for meals while on duty. For most of us, this is a holiday.
   For the for Public Safety personnel, it is their duty.
We provide meals for these Public Safety Personnel:
- Montgomery County Police stationed in this Area
- Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad
- Kensington Volunteer Fire Department

This presentation on signs at businesses will answer questions such as:
   - When is a Sign Permit Necessary?
   - What is the Application Process?
   - How Long is a Sign Permit Valid?
   - What are the Permit Fees?
A sign permit for a permanent sign is required before any exterior sign,
as defined by the Montgomery County Zoning Ordinance, may be erected
in the county. This requirement applies to all types of signs, including
free-standing, wall-mounted, and marquee signs. Illuminated signs require
