The Wheaton & Kensington Chamber of Commerce promotes the prosperity and attractiveness of the greater Wheaton-Kensington business community by representing its needs to citizens, government, and business organizations. It advances economic development efforts and works with all sectors of the community to achieve common goals. The Wheaton & Kensington Chamber of Commerce is a business community service organization that: • Serves as a clearinghouse for community and profess information and resources. • Maintains and distributes a variety resource materials for use by local businesses and residents. • Participates and officiates in various public events of interest to the service area. • Encourages and assists in the establishment of reputable businesses in the service area. • Assists in a variety of civic projects and provides speakers to civic and other organizations. • Actively participates in business district beautification projects that enhance the atmosphere of the service area. • Markets and promotes the businesses, activities, and programs of the local service area. • Publishes and distributes the annual Community Guide as a public service to the business and residential communities. • Advocates for and participates in commercial revitalization projects that enhance the quality of life, work and commerce in the area. • Assists in the implementation of Urban District programs and activities that promote commerce in the service area. • Advocates for the business community on issues that affect parking and traffic concerns in the area. • Hosts an annual awards program to recognize outstanding business leaders, public servants, community and education leaders, and deserving students who make significant contributions to the community. • Promotes educational and workforce development programs in both private and public sectors. • Lobbies county, state, and federal government agencies for the funding of business and civic projects that enhance commerce in the area. • Promotes and encourages local public improvements to parks, public transit systems, streetscaping, and roadways. • Provides unique networking and marketing opportunities to its members.

Full-time employees (36-40 hours per week) are counted as one employee each. Every two part-time employees (10-35 hours per week) count as one employee each. Employees of less than 10 hours per week are not included in dues assessment. The dues structure is as follows:
